Chinese New Year is just 3 days away.
I have not packed my room.
I have not bought any new clothes.
I have not done anything yet!
Every year, during Chinese New Year, me and the Beach Gals will meet up on the second day, 初二, at someone’s house, to eat, gamble and catch up. This has been our ‘tradition’ for the many years we have known one another.
This year, the gathering will be at Director’s new house. It’s a housewarming (though it has been warmed till hot already ;p) cum CNY gathering. Actually, we have been visiting her place for a few years consecutively. Reason being her house is big enough to house all of us, plus her family, siblings’ family, cousins and so on and so on. And also because her family likes to gamble (Ooops! Gambling den!). We will all gather at a big table, take out our money, and start betting. Black Jack, In-Between, Chor Dai Dee, and whatever game we can think of to gamble with.
Every year, we will pester Gangster to be the banker. Simply because the rest of us are chicken-hearted ;p. If it is not Gangster, it will be one of Director’s relatives. And every year, without fail, DaJie will lose all her Ang Pow money at the table. Somehow, she does not have much luck in gambling, so far. Me? Most of the time breakeven LOL.
Initially, we planned to go house visiting. Ut then we got lazy, so just stick to one house. Then we agreed to rotate every year. But somehow, we got stuck every year at Director’s house. I guess there is a gambler in all of us afterall LOL.
We wanted to go JB-ren’s house. But… erm… after we saw the Aides mosquito there, and knowing that she did not do anything about it, we are all skeptical about going to her house again hehehe.
Ok, next time, if I have a place of my own, I will invite you gals ok?
