Rear Mirror

I read a short story today, which I thought was rather meaningful. An even shorter extract from the short story:

“A famous french author once said that life is like driving a car up the highway.... when you drive too slow everyone will jeer at you.... horn you from behind.. get in front of you and try to win you.... everyone wants to overtake a slow car... But when you drive too fast.... and ahead of everyone else, you will be lonely..... you drive so fast that you will miss out on alot of beautiful sceneries.. alot of beautiful things in life.....the things that you really want to do in life... We can often only look into our rear mirror to see the things that we missed out .. only to notice that the more we move forward... the further those things will be...”

How true it is… How many of us can really do what we want to do in life? How many of us are not doing things just to please those people around us? How many of us really love doing what we are doing? I think I can safely say, more than 80% of us dont belong to any of the above-mentioned group.

I, for one, am guilty of all the above. And so are many people I know. Why on earth do we do that for? Why cant we do things we like and want to do? Why do we have to make other people happy, whilst we suffer in silence? Since many people are doing the same thing, why cant we ALL just do things we like, so everyone will just be happy?

Because, by doing that, we will ALL be deemed as – SELFISH.

I dont understand… I very dont understand. Human beings are just… funny creatures…
